Monobrick and messages

For school I want to control an NXT Mindstorm over Monobrick and on the Computer I want to use an EEG to handle it. This is a headset which measure brain activitys and then it will be formated in a electic signal and that will control the Mindstorm but this is very hard to control the NXT so I want to equip the NXT with sensors to stop the Mindstorm so it won´t drive against the wall or fall down the stairs. And here starts my problem because without Monobrick it will stop but with it it won´t stop if the sensors say stop. With that I ask you if you have a solution for me to solve that problem.
