the same about the 2 GB imagefile:

BTW, what is the advantage having the 512kB or 2GB or 4GB image?

Just depends on how much space you have on your SD card. If you have a large card and use a small image you will not be unable to use the full capacity of your card.

I don’t get it – what is the image for?
I have a 16 GB card, but what actually is the image doing? What is a 512kB image doing, and what is the 4GB image doing better?

using 7-zip for 4GB Image:
same error: image file is damaged
(breaks and hangs up at 99%)

update:
after the 4th try the 4GB img now was unzipped successfully by 7-zip, no idea why it failed so often before… ❓

Image appears to be o.k.,
Brick booted MONO from µSD,
sample programs listed and partially tried,
Mono version 2.11.4

Now it would be very fine to have USB
– for uploading programs from PC (Visual Studio) to the EV3 Brick
– and for FW update, too,
as I dont have neither WiFi nor BT !
